Established in 2013, Consumer Credit Compliance was originally set up by Directors Ian Beardmore and David Petty as a response to the changes in the marketplace that were occurring for those involved in the consumer credit industry. Responsibility was moved over from the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), with an increasing set of tougher standards that firms now have to meet. The standards are now much higher, focusing on the consumer and their experiences.
Since October 2014 CCC have worked with over 1,000 clients assisting them with their FCA application and post-authorisation we continue to provide Ongoing Client Support to 50% of these clients, assisting them to maintain their ongoing compliance requirements and meet the FCA‘s threshold conditions.

Meet the Team
Chief Executive Officer
Ian has more than 20 years’ experience in the retail sector and has been directly dealing with consumer credit issues and the FCA for more than a decade. During that time, he has become a well-respected member of the finance and insurance industry, and in 2011 he was awarded the acclaimed Annual Achievement Award for his services within the sector.
Ian has recently been appointed as a Director of the Association of Professional Compliance Consultants (APCC) and is Chair of their working group on Consumer Credit, he is also a regular speaker at financial and trade association conferences. Ian meet’s regularly with the FCA to discuss how the Association can work with them to improve communication to their members and ultimately to the regulated firms, he also meets with representatives within the FCA’s various teams to promote collaborative thinking and endeavouring to ensure the right balance between compliance and commercial challenges are addressed.
Chief Information Officer
David Petty has 25 years of IT experience and has a solid knowledge of the technological side of compliance. His in-depth understanding of IT allows him to ensure all the computer systems our clients use meet the required compliance standards.
He also strives to simplify the processes to make them more user-friendly for you and your staff.
Pat is a hugely experienced professional, having previously had an extensive career in Trading Standards, where she advised firms on all areas of complex Consumer Credit Legislation. Pat is well known and respected in the industry.
Since joining CCC, Pat has built an impressive portfolio of globally based clients, but still has time for small independent firms that need her help and guidance.
Pat holds a Diploma in Consumer Affairs and Trading Standards and is a full member of the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. She is also a Quality Management Systems Lead Auditor to standards ISO 9001:2015 and a qualified Chartered Institute of Environmental Health trainer
Martin has over 30 years of working in the consumer credit marketplace.
Primarily working for motor finance lenders, Lombard, UDT and First National in sales management and training and development roles.
During that time he has worked with retailers and brokers to help them develop the sale of consumer credit products to their customers.
His knowledge of consumer credit regulation over this time has enabled him to deliver practical and engaging compliance training to firms in order to skill their staff and to evidence training competence.
Martin delivers our classroom based open courses around the country. He also works closely with Pat in putting together the course material and is currently working with her on the e-learning project.
