Company History:

  • 2013

    Consumer Credit Compliance was founded

    • Founded by directors Ian Beardmore and David Petty

      Established in 2013, Consumer Credit Compliance was originally set up by Directors Ian Beardmore and David Petty as a response to the changes in the marketplace that were occurring for those involved in the consumer credit industry. Responsibility was moved over from the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), with an increasing set of tougher standards that firms now must meet. The standards are now much higher, focusing on the consumer and their experiences.

  • 2014

    Worked with over 1,200 clients

    • Worked on a variety of documents including FCA Applications, post-authorisation and more

      Since October 2014 CCC have worked with over 1,200 clients assisting them with their FCA application and post-authorisation and we continue to provide Ongoing Client Support to around 500 clients, assisting them to maintain their ongoing compliance requirements and meet the FCA‘s threshold conditions.

  • 2017

    Consumer Credit Compliance gains new permissions

    • New permissions gained for Consumer Credit activities

      Consumer Credit Compliance employs gains new permissions including: Debt Adjusting & Debt Counselling.

  • 2018

    Consumer Credit Compliance continues to grow and diversify

    • New consultant employed

      Consumer Credit Compliance employs a new consultant who specialises in Consumer Credit, GDPR and Claims Management.

    • Claims Management Compliance is launched

      Claims Management Compliance is a bespoke and dedicated support service for claims management companies.

    • Consumer Credit Compliance Training launched its first e-Learning course

      Consumer Credit Compliance launches an e-Learning course through its sister company, Consumer Credit Compliance Training.

    • New Permissions

      Consumer Credit Compliance adds Insurance Mediation Permissions to their regulated activities with the FCA.

    • Appointed Representative Network is launched

      Consumer Credit Compliance is a Principal firm, so can oversee FCA requirements for other firms in their AR Network.

    • New consultant employed

      Consumer Credit Compliance employs a new consultant who specialises in Insurance Mediation, GDPR and Claims Management.

  • 2019

    Consumer Credit Compliance (Now Trading As The Compliance Company)

    • The Compliance Company employs four ex Claims Management Regulation

      The Compliance Company employs four ex Claims Management Regulation Officers who specialise in Claims Management and GDPR

    • Open New Offices In Derby

      The Compliance Company open new offices in Derby City Centre.

    • Launch New Improved Website

      Consumer Credit Compliance invests in a new and improved website.

    • Install New Business Management System

      The Compliance Company has invested heavily in implementing a new business management system through out the business.

    • AR Network

      The Compliance Company - AR Network continues to grow with the addition of a large national brand.

  • 2020

    The Compliance Company - Continues To Expand And Grow

    • New Group Operations Director Employed

      The Compliance Company has employed an experienced Group Operations Director to help take the business to the next level

    • Opens New Offices In Leeds City Centre

      The Compliance Company continues to grow and has opened a new office in the prime position on 1 Park Row, Leeds City centre.

    • As our company gains more experience, our levels of expertise also increase

      Our experienced team of Compliance Experts blend their backgrounds and experience, with effective knowledge from various sectors, including the motor vehicle trade, retail, equipment hire, telecommunications, IT, customer service and business development to consistently deliver an effective guidance and support network for our clients.

    • Appointment of new Managing Director

      Following the appointment of Samantha Connor as Group Operations Director in January, Sam has been appointed as our new Managing Director.

    • New Client & Partnership Manager

      In a year of continued growth, Chris Payne has joined us as our new Client & Partnership Manager.

David Petty

David Petty


David Petty has over 25 years of IT network infrastructure experience and has gained the highest qualifications over this period of time. He also has a solid knowledge of the technological side of compliance and his in-depth understanding of IT allows him to ensure that all our computer systems and network structures are always secure and up to date.

Over the last few years David has also undertaken the responsibility of all marketing and sales activities, developing our marketing strategies in line with our company objectives and co-ordinating our marketing campaigns.

Ian Newbury

Ian Newbury

Risk and Compliance Monitoring Manager

Ian joined The Compliance Company  in March 2019 as Lead Auditor and Business Development Manager.

Ian has 30 years’ experience in supporting business with compliance having previously been employed by West Yorkshire Trading Standards Service.

Ian’s previous role included being a regional coordinator for the  11 trading standards authorities within the Yorkshire and Humber region and Ian has represented the region at national level.

Ian is a qualified Lead Auditor and has undertaken multi-disciplined audits in the motor trade, retail sectors as well as undertaking internal quality audits.

Ian also maintained and developed relationships with key external stakeholders and project managed a number of successful externally funded projects.

Amy joined the Compliance Company in January 2019 as the Appointed Representative Network Manager.

Amy is an intelligent, organised and resourceful professional with a finance focused background. Success has been gained through delivering results across a multitude of business areas and every step forward has been the product of striving and succeeding to beat expectations. A focused and organised individual with the ability to multi-task whilst maintaining attention to detail. Applying a logical approach to tasks and challenges coupled with a strong desire to achieve.

  • Over 12 years’ experience in the Consumer Credit market
  • Previously with a specialist Consumer Credit Broker
  • Track record includes;
    • Ensuring businesses operate in a compliant manner consistent with regulatory requirements, professional standards and internal policies
    • Reviewing, improving and updating policy and procedure documents including Regulatory Business Plans
    • Assisting with development and implementation of induction and on-going training programs

Helena Parkinson

Helena Parkinson

Client Relationship Manager

Helena has worked at Consumer Credit Compliance for over 3 years.  She has an understanding of FCA regulations and consumer credit. She has experience in working in Debt Management, Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) and Individual Voluntary Agreements (IVA).  Her current role is Client Relationship Manager. She is also a key player in business development and sales and marketing.

Her expertise includes over 30 years in health and social care.  She was a former social worker specialising in mental health.  Her expertise includes psychology, sociology, social policy and social work law.  Helena trained as Life Coach with the Coaching Academy in London and mentors those looking for change in their lives.  She  qualified as a reflexologist in 2006.  Her interests are health and fitness, business and personal development and astrology.
