    Interview with Consumer Credit Compliance Operations Director, Helen Garnham

    Last month we spoke to Consumer Credit Compliance Founder and Director, David Petty. Throughout David’s interview he talked about the support his team provides and their importance to the success of the business.

    So, we spoke to Operations Director, Helen Garnham, about her experiences and the support that she and her team provide to their Appointed Representative network.

    How long have you been at CCC?

    Just approaching 2 years.

    What is your favourite thing about working at CCC?

    My team, they are all very different, and bring a vast array of diverse knowledge, skills and experience to the table, all of which ultimately compliment and support what CCC is about and our ability to thrive as a Principal firm.

    How do you achieve success in your role?

    Tenacity, determination and compulsion to always find a solution!

    What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

    You can only control what you can control!

    What does your day-to-day role entail?

    A multitude of things, from speaking to both prospective ARs and existing ARs, keeping abreast of regulatory changes, supporting my team as and where necessary.

    What do you look for from your Appointed Representative?

    Firms who are open, transparent, with a good business model either in place or proposed, suitable resources and their willingness to engage and be overseen by ourselves.

    What excites you the most about the year ahead?

    All the proposed changes a foot, from the implementation of the Consumer Duty, the new Financial promotions gateway, BNPL regulation, Edinburgh reforms etc, it will definitely keep us all on our toes!

    Is there something you did in 2022 that you’re most proud of?

    Re-evaluated what I want from life and started putting the foundations in place!

    Where is your favourite place in the world?

    So far, Las Vegas, but it is just crazy!

    What are three things still left on your bucket list?

    Parachute jump, experience the Northern Lights & go on a safari!
