Last month we spoke to Consumer Credit Compliance’s (CCC) Ian Newbury who said that his favourite part of working at CCC was “[his] colleagues without a doubt”. This month we spoke to Risk & Compliance Manager, Amy McLaughlin, who has just celebrated a milestone 4 years working at CCC.
What has been your best memory of working at CCC?
How supportive they were during my maternity leave and on my return, it was like I’d never been gone when I came back in January.
What does your day-to-day role entail?
No two days are the same which keeps the role interesting. I work alongside our team and AR firms from onboarding to implementation of compliance monitoring and policies, in addition to checking AR financial promotions and conducting annual reviews on our appointed representative firms and their approved persons.
What’s your favourite part of your role?
Collaborating with the team, we all have such different skill sets that work so well together to find solutions and get tasks completed to ensure we, and our ARs remain compliant. Though if you ask the team, they’d probably tell you it was creating spreadsheets !!
What would you say are the biggest benefits of being an AR of CCC?
The variety of experience they get access to within our team, we are their Principal and where needed we will challenge them, but we are always willing to help them to ensure the business they conduct is done so in a compliant manner.
What was the last film you watched?
I went to see Air at the Everyman recently.
What song do you listen to the most?
The most played song in our house/on the school run is Hold Me Closer from The Lockdown Sessions with Elton John and Britney Spears. My daughter and I love a sing along in the car!
What is your favourite TV show?
This was a hard choice to make, I’d say it’s a tie between Greys Anatomy and This Is Us – both of which I am currently re-watching from the start!
What’s your favourite way to spend a day off?
Making memories with the children, exploring at RHS Harlow Carr or on a playdate with friends. Usually there is tea and cake involved too!
What are you most looking forward to for 2023?
I’m thankful I’ve got lots of lovely things coming up soon, theatre trips, my birthday, and a couple of family holidays too so plenty to look forward to 😊.
